Mr. Lin studied law at East China University of Politics & Law, Shanghai, China from 1980 to 1987, and got a bachelor of law in 1984 and a master of law in 1987. He pursued advanced studies as a visiting scholar at Law School, Washington University from 1992 to 1994 and at University of Missouri from 1994 to 1996 in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A.
Mr. Lin lectured and researched China laws as a faculty member in East China University of Politics & Law from 1987 to 1992. He has become Senior Researcher in Institute of Law, Shanghai Academy of Social Science since 1996. He published 8 books and 19 articles in many well recognized magazines and legal presses, such as “Studies of Law” and “Law of China”, which is an acknowledgment of his superior academic achievements and research abilities.
Mr. Lin has become a member of Shanghai Law Society since 1986, and he practiced law at Shanghai Forth Law Firm in 1987. He has become a member of All China Lawyer Association since 1996 and practiced law in Shanghai Jin Lian Law Firm in 1996. He has become a funding partner of AllBright Law Offices since 1999.
Mr. Lin’s expertise lies in the field of foreign direct investment, merge & acquisitions, real estate transaction, intellectual property protection, international trade, finance, commercial litigation and arbitration. Recently, he was engaged as a legal counsel for the Shanghai Stock Exchange and many other corporations and institutions. Throughout the span of his career, he was in charge of lots of foreign direct investment projects and business transactions in the area of securities, oil, petrochemical, automobile, electric, real estate, telecommunication, bank, environment and franchise in China.
Mr. Lin is very experienced in dispute resolution through ADR, arbitration and litigation. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese, he not only successfully represented lots of foreign and Chinese clients at Shanghai Intermediate Court, Shanghai High Court, Jiangsu High Court, Zhejiang High Court, Chongqing High Court, and Supreme Court of China, he also represented his clients at the Ontario Supreme Court in Canada, Arbitration commissions in the USA., Hague of Holland, Hong Kong and the International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission in China through cooperation with foreign law firms and foreign lawyers. The Supreme Court of China set precedent upon a newly introduced situation on jurisdiction of arbitration in one of the international arbitration cases that he represented in USA.
