Data on Foreign Investments in China from January to April 2025 is Released

From January to April 2025, 18,832 foreign-invested enterprises were newly established across China, representing a year-on-year increase of 12.1%; the actual paid-in foreign capital reached RMB 320.78 billion, representing a year-on-year decrease of 10.9%.
In terms of sectors, the foreign capital utilized in manufacturing sector and service sector reached RMB 84.06 billion and RMB 231.25 billion respectively. The foreign capital utilized in high-tech sector amounted to RMB 96.71 billion, with an increase of 137% in e-commerce service, 86.2% in aircraft and spacecraft and equipment manufacturing, 57.8% in chemical pharmaceutical manufacturing, and 4.9% in medical instrument, equipment and device manufacturing. In terms of sources of foreign investments, the investments in China made by ASEAN countries grew by 42.9%, while the investments in China from Japan, Switzerland, UK, South Korea, Germany rose by 74.2%, 68.4%, 54.6%, 22.3% and 12.3% respectively.
