Michael Xu is a Partner in the firm’s Cross-Border Practice, with a focus on foreign direct investment (FDI) in China, outbound investments by Chinese enterprises, cross-border M&A, international dispute resolution, compliance and regulatory matters for foreign businesses in China, intellectual property protection, data privacy and cybersecurity, and financial regulatory issues in cross-border transactions.
Over the years, Michael has earned the long-standing trust and recognition of a broad range of clients, including publicly listed companies, industry leaders, financial institutions, and government-affiliated entities across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. Before joining AllBright, he worked at the internationally renowned European law firm Cuatrecasas.
Michael specializes in delivering end-to-end legal solutions for global clients, encompassing both inbound operations of foreign businesses in China and outbound investments by Chinese enterprises. He is particularly adept at navigating the complexities of multi-jurisdictional, multilingual, and cross-cultural transactions and disputes. His practice spans a wide range of services, including investment structuring, innovative business model design, cross-border transaction execution, commercial contract negotiation, regulatory and compliance reviews, IP and data protection, and international dispute resolution.
