The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit concluded on September 21, 2025 in Nanning, China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with more than 500 economic and trade agreements being signed.
This year’s EXPO achieved substantial results, including efforts in consensus-building, trade facilitation, investment promotion, and cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI). A total of 155 investment projects were signed, of which 74 focused on processing and manufacturing, representing 88 percent of the total investment. These manufacturing projects span a wide range of sectors, including mechanical equipment, petrochemicals and chemical engineering, nonferrous metals, new materials, light industry and textiles, and information technology. Notably, the AI pavilion alone recorded deals exceeding 140 million yuan (about 19.68 million U.S. dollars). This included more than 140 related cooperative outcomes, featuring the release of 23 industry-specific large-scale models, 25 AI+ application scenarios, and seven strategic action plans.
China-ASEAN trade continues to evolve, shifting from traditional agricultural products toward a more diversified structure with increased manufacturing inputs. As the digital economy rises, merchandise trade is expected to reach new heights, while services trade also holds significant untapped potential for future growth.
