On July 24, 2014, AllBright Partner Dr. Amy Fang Ye held a seminar entitled Regulatory Changes on Supervision of Cross-border Capital Flows: A focus on the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone in the Hong Kong office of Stevenson, Wong & Co. at the invitation of the Hong Kong Corporate Counsel Association (HKCCA).


The attendees included officials from the HKSAR Department of Justice and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and prestigious financial institutions and companies such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Macquarie Group, Wing Lung Bank Ltd., UniCredit Bank AG, Nanyang Commercial Bank Ltd., PricewaterhouseCoopers, ACE Life Insurance Co., FWD Life Insurance Company (Bermuda) Ltd., PRADA Asia Pacific Ltd., Shell Hong Kong Ltd., and Hutchison Port Holdings, Ltd.


Dr. Ye provided focused guidance on the new capital flow regulations and illustrated the supervisory policies in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone in three parts, which included the latest updates, the legal services AllBright provides for businesses in the Free Trade Zone, and the regulatory changes to the supervision of cross-border RMB flows. The seminar was well received by the attendees. Dr. Ye later provided time for a Q&A session with the attendees to provide more insight into the new regulatory environment.
