Lawyer Wang Chaoyang primary practice areas include commercial and financial litigation and arbitration. He has successively represented multiple influential and complex civil, commercial and financial cases. Mr. Wang currently serves as a part-time postgraduate supervisor at the School of Law, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
With solid legal expertise and over a decade of professional experience, he has consistently adhered to the principle of integrating academic research with practical application. He has published numerous professional articles in journals and collections including Shanghai Lawyer, Changning Lawyer, Peking University Legal Information Network Wen Cui, and Allbright Law Firm Anthology – Litigation and Arbitration. He has also received the Third Prize in the Shanghai Bar Association Essay Contest, as well as two Second Prizes in the Third Shanghai Lawyer Academic Competition for “Non-Litigation Legal Documents” and “Litigation Legal Documents – Statements of Defense”.
Representative Cases
Representing Shanghai Guangxin Technology Development Co., Ltd. in a foreign guarantee dispute involving RMB 130 million, which was selected as one of AllBright’s Top Ten Cases of 2021.
Representing Tebon Securities Co. Ltd. in a series of asset management plan dispute cases involving RMB 378 million. As typical cases concerning the identification of financial institutions’ suitability obligations after the issuance of the Minutes of the Ninth National Civil and Commercial Trial Work Conference, all concluded cases have resulted in favorable judgments.
Representing Calxon Group Co.,Ltd. with Shenzhen Qiheng Investment Co., Ltd. over damages arising from affiliated transactions harming the company’s interests, involving RMB 160 million. Following first-instance proceedings and a second-instance ruling remanding the case for retrial, the court ultimately reversed the original decision and dismissed all of the opposing party’s claims. This case provides important guiding significance for the determination of improper affiliated transactions.
Representing Beijing New Century Grand Hotel Management Co., Ltd. in a commercial housing pre-sale dispute involving RMB 350 million. The arbitral tribunal accepted the agent’s arguments and held that separate arbitrations filed for default interest arising from successive defaults at different stages do not constitute res judicata.
