In early July, 2013, AllBright advised a foreign corporate client to smoothly conduct a layoff of most of its affected employees. The foreign corporate client made the difficult decision to lay off more than 90 percent of its total employees due to economic reasons, slumping profits and hard economic conditions.

AllBright advised the client to design a detailed layoff plan, including a compensation package for regular employees and specialized termination benefits packages for contractor or special employees. The layoff was conducted in full compliance with the law. Due to expert planning, the large-scale layoff was completed in a short period of time – within two weeks. Moreover, it was conducted peacefully without incurring any labor strife or demonstrations, which won praise from company management. With AllBright’s assistance, the company demonstrated to laid-off employees, retained employees, and the general public, that the company values the workers' contributions and is concerned for their welfare.
