On September 10 and 11, AllBright partners Theresa Qiu and Ted Wu, together with the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Deputy Chairman Wen Wanli and Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Communications Department Head Weng Guanxing, went to Tokyo, Japan to introduce arbitration rules in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. They gave a brief introduction on the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Arbitration Center, explained the arbitration rules of the Center and gave an in-depth analysis of the latest arbitration cases in China.

China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Arbitration Rules greatly reflect the principle of adopting the arbitration procedures subject to the free will of the parties, high efficiency and convenience as it makes reference to advanced theory and systems from other countries. Lawyers from Nishimura & Asahi, Anderson Mori and Tomotsune, City-Yuwa partners, and other leading law firms in Japan recognized that the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Arbitration Rules spotlight issues such as interim measures, emergency tribunals, and appointing an arbitrator from outside of the panel of arbitrators.

The Shanghai delegation also had a meeting with Sugiura Seiken, the former Minister of Justice of Japan, during the visit.
